Getty Images Malls across America are going to have to set up security guards at every fountain. That's because the pennies people toss in to make a wish might be worth lots of brand-new clothes. JCPenney is launching a series of sales where you can buy items for just one penny. The company announced the "Get Your Penney's Worth" sale strategy on Thursday, and said they would start advertising it this spring. The plan includes "Penney Days," which makes select products from the company's store brands sell for just one penny. The first Penney Days event will start on February 28 in stores and online. You can buy one regular priced Arizona clothing item or accessory and get another one for a penny. And future Penney Days will offer one-cent items that you can buy without purchasing another item first, while supplies last. The company dates back to 1919. It was founded by two brothers, Max and Morris Feldberg, and was called the New England Trading Company. Their gender neutral approach to kids' products was applauded by many, but some fans of the brand were not happy, prompting one supporter to create a hilarious fake Facebook account trolling the haters. The criticism apparently had little impact on Target's larger efforts to dispel gender stereotypes though. The store just announced a new line of kids' decor called Pillowfort that let's you use pink and blue interchangeably in designing spaces for boys and girls. Fans of HGTV's Fixer Upper  know that the couple recently undertook their biggest rehab project ever in acquiring a sprawling downtown Waco property that includes two huge grain silos and a 20,000-square-foot barn. More than a year in the making, the new complex had its grand opening in a two-day "#Silobration" on October 30 and 31. We visited on December10 and 12 to get a feel for the place on different days of the week as it settles in as Waco's newest landmark. Here's what we saw and what we thought: 1. Great prices, good design, and tasty food – there's a slew of reasons why IKEA's big yellow letters have become a beacon to shoppers around the globe. They represent a promise that you'll enter the store empty handed and walk out with a ready-to-assemble living room. But for first-time visitors, a trip to the giant furniture warehouse is less like a scene out of 500 Days of Summer , and more like that awkward first day of school when you don't know anything or anyone. (Ryan Reynolds knows what we're talking about.) BuzzFeed found three adults who had never been to IKEA (gasp!) and decided to send them on a shopping excursion. Getty Target, the superstore that somehow makes everyone  prone to impulse buys, just found a new way to get us to fork over more cash: serving cocktails and selling bottles of booze. At one store in Chicago, which is slated to open in October, customers will get to take a break from their shopping sprees and indulge in a drink (or three). According to Crain's Chicago, the new Windy City location applied for not one but two liquor licenses — one to sell packaged booze on its shelves and the other to serve beer, wine, and spirits from a bar inside the 24,000-square-foot space. The store stocks items for all over the house, including decor and pillows, accent furniture, bedding, bath, tabletop, and more.
