Watch a Mesmerizing Time-Lapse Video of Sunday's Super Blood Moon

On Sunday night, the heavens gifted us with a rare and wonderful performance. For the first time in 33 years, a supermoon occurred during a lunar eclipse, giving the celestial orb a blood-red tinge and then allowing it to vanish almost as if it were being eaten by the sky.

There are plenty of amazing photos of the event (like that image above at Glastonbury), but this time-lapse video taken by Bryan Snider in Gilbert, Arizona, captures the phenomenon best because it shows the remarkable evolution of this historic occurrence. The next "super blood moon," as it's been dubbed, won't be until 2033, so feast your eyes on this beauty.
