Reba McEntire's Tennessee Mansion Was Just Marked Down to an Insanely Low Price
Reba McEntire's Nashville-area house is back on the market — and this time, for a fraction of the original asking price. But what might look like a good deal is actually pretty sad, or as Realtor.com puts it, a "real estate tragedy."
Here's what happened: The singer, who was just nominated for a CMA for Female Vocalist of the Year, used to live in the 12,816-square-foot mansion situated on what was then 83 acres in Lebanon, Tennessee, with her ex-husband, TV producer Narvel Blackstock. But, sadly, after they split, McEntire put the lakefront property, dubbed "Starstruck Farm", on the market for $.9 million. There it sat, offer-less, for nearly a year, before the country star sold it to a real estate developer for just $ million in July.
That developer, Paul Burch, is now selling the same seven-bedroom house at 175 Cherokee Dock Road for $$$$ million. Why the slashed price? Well, because the land has been slashed, too, into 15 smaller lots, where new houses will be built and potentially sold for as much as $$$,000 per home, Realtor.com reports. According to the Tennessean, the plan was approved by The Wilson County Planning Commission. Now, some are saying McEntire missed out on a smart business opportunity to do the same.
But with two Grammy Awards under her belt and a whopping $$ million net worth, McEntire doesn't really need to dabble in real estate. Of course, whoever buys the mansion now has only 7.9 acres of land instead of the original 83 — but we'd still say that's nothing to turn your nose up at!
