This Is Why the Plants at Your Garden Center Look So Perfect

Planting and tending one garden plot is certainly time-consuming enough. So you might wonder how your local nursery quickly grows thousands of blooms so everyone in town (even black thumbs) can easily add a bit of spring to their yards.

The answer, sadly, is not an army of cute grandmas with floral gardening gloves and matching spades. Instead, your greenhouse might employ a super-cool robot that makes insanely quick work of repetitive gardening tasks.

Bob's Market and Greenhouse in Mason, West Virginia, recently showed off its robot as it transplanted pansy seedlings into beds with more breathing room.We were seriously transfixed watching the oddly satisfying rhythm of its work pattern. It's almost as meditative as doing the gardening yourself — and the robot is surprisingly better than you at not damaging even the tiniest leaf.
