Sitcoms are visual comfort food, and not just because of the funny story lines and sweet characters — the sets also really make us want to curl up right next to the fake families that live in them. There's so much to love in all of these cozy spots, and we took picking a favorite very seriously (you know, for fun). What's yours?

16. Bewitched

Samantha and Darrin's apartment was welcoming, but had many typical midcentury appointments (perhaps because the magical family wanted to appear as normal as possible!). We do admire that floral couch, though (and her colorful kitchen!) — even though Endora had a way of making any room instantly chillier.

Mrs. Cunningham was tidy traditionalist, but her welcoming space (even with those dark floral curtains) could even make the Fonz show his softer side.

14. Family Matters

This Chicago set had all the trappings of a cozy multi-family space: right down to cozy blankets on a couch that practically had room for the whole crew.

13. Modern Family

Claire and Phil's pristine entryway and living room might be hard to recreate in real life, but all we're seeing in this tense scene is that endlessly fluffy couch and fun pillows.

12. The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Mary's eclectic 70's style made her apartment kitschy and warm — but it can't compete with Rhoda's magenta attic space on the cozy scale.

It's hard not to love Jess and her quirky ways, and her comfy room (in the otherwise industrial loft apartment) reminds us of her — the colorful patterned bedspread and pom-pom fringed pillows say it all.

10. Roseanne

Roseanne told it like it is – her no-nonsense style translated into the set's decor. Though not the most polished, the home was comfy in all the regular, reliable ways — tons of family photos, a little clutter, and a crocheted throw on the couch. It's the look that says "home" to nearly any family.

Who could forget this home's white picket fence? And this, it had all the trappings of a welcoming space — like the kitchen's stone wall and plethora of houseplants, for instance. And honestly, who can deny how a hunky housekeeper can instantly make a room more inviting?

A bunch of grown men raising a family of girls might not always yield a tidy household, but dad Danny Tanner proved to be our favorite exception to the rule. But his clean-freak tendencies didn't make this packed house sterile. It was always the place for playing cards on the floor or teddybear sing-alongs.

Our dark horse candidate proves that homes are the only place where everybody knows your name. The bar in this classic workplace sitcom is as cozy and friendly as any happy household.

6. Three's Company

House plants galore and fun patterned furniture make this apartment a cheery place — but the three roommates' chemistry always made us wish we could come over (regardless of what hi-jinks they were up to).

5. Gilmore Girls

Stars Hollow is basically the epitome of New England charm, and the theme carried cozy into Lorelei and Rory's home. They were always ready for movie night on that sofa — even though it was actually super uncomfortable in real life. Applause to the actors on that one! You had us fooled.

4. I Love Lucy

Since Lucy can basically do no wrong in our book, we had to scoot the Ricardos' place toward the top of our list. It might have been small in square footage, but what it lacked in size it made up in homeyness — the perfect backdrop for Lucy's antics.

3. The Brady Bunch

The Brady's home always felt warm (and spotless — thanks, Alice!), with lots of wood tones and midcentury charm. Oh, and the bustling band of smily kids probably had something to do with it, too.

2. Friends

This show's apartments made you dream of packing up and moving to NYC. Frankly, we think the guys' place was way more comfortable than the girls' (we cannot deny the appeal of a good recliner), but Central Perk, the crews home away from home, wins out for being so intimate and quaint. That couch is nothing less than iconic.

The four roomies' Florida home was full of neat end tables, tropical patterns and (most importantly) plenty of cheesecake — all are good enough reasons to win the top slot in our ranking. But what really makes us smile when we think of this place, is the fact that the ladies never minded just hanging out in their fluffiest of robes.
