This Is What an $8.5 Million Dollhouse Looks Like

The Astolat Dollhouse Castle, valued at and insured for $.5 million, will go on public display for the first time ever starting November 12 at the Time Warner Center in New York City.

Constructed in the 1980s by Colorado miniature artist Elaine Diehl, the dollhouse features 29 rooms filled with 10,000 miniature pieces, including elaborate furniture, oil paintings, mirrors, fireplaces, gold jewelry, rare books, fine rugs, fabrics, and pieces made of and silver and gold. Spread over seven levels, the house has a wine cellar, a kitchen, a library, a music room, a grand ballroom, a bar, and an armory. Imagine the parties it could host!
