These Floating Cabins Offer Uninterrupted Views of Thailand's Countryside

There's nothing like the lull of floating on a river to help you drift off to deep, uninterrupted sleep — or at least we can imagine. We're not an A-list celebrities, so we always figured that kind of a vacation was something we'd be stuck experiencing through the Travel Channel. But these XFloat Cabins in Thailand are making our (very well-rested) dreams come true.

They're part of X2's boutique vacation property portfolio, go for approximately $$$ per night, and float on the famous River Kwai in the historic Kanchanaburi countryside (read: the views are really, really pretty — even though the area's involvement in WWII wasn't). Plus, cabins are eco-friendly. The lightweight building materials make them slim, but strong. And we're totally digging the industrial chic decor, especially the floor-to-ceiling windows that let the river views take center stage.

Inside you'll find the bedroom with a door to the balcony directly attached — so you can keep 'em open if you want fresh air or closed for a view without the bugs. The bathroom is exceptionally dreamy, featuring a luxury wash basin (basically a fancy way of saying a supremely relaxing tub) and a separate shower (just in case you're not a bath person).

But if we were staying in one of these abodes, we'd spend the majority of our time on the Moon Deck, which is above the living area and allows guests to get some sun with a breeze during the day or take in the sunset and stars at night. The bottom line: You should consider these cabins just another reason you need to add Thailand to your travel bucket list.
